Morocco's Central Bureau of Judicial Investigation (BCIJ) arrested on Tuesday two ISIS-linked suspects.
A statement from the BCIJ said that the two suspects, aged 24 and 37, were active in Tamadafelt an area in Missour, in the Fez-Meknes province and Beni Khellad in Taza, northern Morocco.
One of the suspects is a former terror convict. He is one of the returnees from the Syrian-Iraqi zone where he joined ISIS.
Searches at the homes of the two suspects enabled police to seize electronic devices, paramilitary uniforms, and knives.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the two suspects pledged allegiance to the emir of ISIS and plotted “dangerous terrorist attacks” across Morocco.
The suspects were seeking to target vital establishments and security headquarters.

The suspects were seeking to target vital establishments and security headquarters.
BCIJ said that the operation confirms the “persistence of terrorist threats targeting the kingdom.”
The statement also emphasized the persistent threat of extremist ideology some individuals adopt to respond to “inciement on the web for the execution of terrorist projects with a view to seriously undermining security officials, property , and public order.”
The two suspects are in custody as part of a judicial investigation to determine the circumstances of the case and identify possible accomplices.
The operation is the second of its kind in a week.
On May 25, BCIJ arrested two other suspects affiliated with ISIS.
The suspects also pledged allegiance to the emir of ISIS.
The security operations are part of Morocco’s efforts to combat terror threats.
Morocco introduced the BCIJ in 2015. It is among Morocco’s vital security units collaborating with other intelligence services to tackle the threat of terrorism in the country.
Recent data show that Morocco has dismantled 2,0009 terror cells since 2002.
The country has also arrested 3,353 people for their alleged involvement in terrorist activities and aborted over 500 terrorist plots.
